When I was 12 years old I discovered a very masculine man I wanted to emulate: Cary Grant. He was everything I wanted to be. He was funny, handsome, always immaculately well dressed and everybody liked him. Interestingly, he wore his own clothes in his movies. Women loved him. Cary Grant had an easy self confidence that you couldn’t fake and a style all his own that you could not entirely copy. One mark of his success and effectiveness is that many groups now want to claim him and re-define him, but he remains a private, complex man from a more innocent time. Studied today in his entirety, as a man in full, you’d be hard pressed to find a better example of a more refined, funny and always polite and hard-working gentleman. I recommend you study him very carefully. To that end, we are devoting this week’s and next week’s Good News About Being A Man to Cary Grant.
Enjoy this short 5 minute tribute by Mr. Michael Caine, also a man worth studying:
The world needs more gentlemen who are bold, authentic and masculine, like you and Cary Grant.
